Q: Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

A: I’m an Australia mum of three that lives in Melbourne. I started building an online business because I was sick of a life where my husband was always at work while I went stir crazy at home with young kids and we never seemed to be getting ahead. It was the best thing I have ever done. I now have two successful blogs and the freedom to structure our lives how we want. I blog all about family travel at wheressharon.com and about building an online business at digitalnomadwannabe.com

Q: For How Long Have You Been Blogging?

A: 12 years! It’s only been a few years since it turned into more than an online journal though.

Q: Your blog is considered top blog for this week. What’s your biggest frustration with blogging and what’s your biggest win?

A: The hardest part was definitely working very hard on it for a year before I really saw a payoff. The biggest win is that it did all pay off. I now have two financially successful blogs and I love it.

Q: I admire you, Sharon. I really do. Many people have the tendency of giving up when they don’t make any money from their blogs, but you stayed and kept fighting till you made it. Wow! What’s your biggest Traffic Source?

A: For my travel blog, it’s Google. For digitalnomadwannabe.com, it’s actually direct traffic.

Q; How do you monetize your blog traffic?

A: On wheressharon, it’s primarily affiliate marketing. For digitalnomadwannabe, it’s my own products.

Q: I totally agree with you Sharon, affiliate marking and selling your own products is the best blog monetisation method many best bloggers use. I see that you run a very successful Facebook group. How do you keep up with all these people and blogging?

A: I‘m not going to lie, I work very hard. I absolutely love my Facebook group though and enjoy helping people (I used to be a teacher), so that part I don’t mind at all.

Q: You are indeed a very hard working Person. What’s your favorite blogging tool?

A: KeySearch! Essential for keyword research.

Q; A word of advice to those starting out.

A: You can do it! It’s hard work and you have to be prepared to put in all the work and to invest in your business financially as well.

Thank you so much, for taking out time to answer these questions. I learned a lot from the interview and I know someone learned too.

Hey there! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could locate a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having problems finding one? Thanks a lot!
